A brand new Mystery Island comes to W Network this month as part of Hallmark Channel’s Summer Nights. Mystery Island: Play for Keeps makes its Canadian premiere Friday, August 22 at 9pm ET/PT, following its US debut on Hallmark Channel on Sunday, August 17. Starring Elizabeth Henstridge and Charlie Weber, this latest installment of the mystery series finds Emilia’s ex-fiancé attending a corporate retreat on the island and things getting even more complicated when a guest is found dead.
Looking ahead, another new Mystery Island comes this fall – Mystery Island: House Rules is set to premiere on Hallmark Channel on Sunday, September 14. Per Hallmark’s website, in this new installment, the success of the island leads to plans for expansion but when the Mystery Island team meets with their counterparts from Mystery Mountain, a friendly murder game ends up turning deadly. Look for a Canadian premiere date when W’s fall lineup is announced.
It definitely looks like changes are in the works at Hallmark now that new mysteries are premiering on Hallmark Channel instead of Hallmark Mystery. It’s also new to see a mystery being included as part of Hallmark’s monthly “seasonal” lineup so it will be interesting to see what happens moving forward.
