A Canadian Guide for Hallmark Movies
Lifetime has just revealed its holiday slate for this year’s It’s a Wonderful Lifetime which begins November 16th and features 12 brand new movies. One of these movies How to Fall in Love by Christmas already premiered last year as part of W Network’s 2023 holiday programming. No announcement has been made for Lifetime Canada but new movies from Lifetime typically premiere here on Lifetime or other networks so hopefully we will see these same premieres in Canada as well. The Countdown to Christmas officially gets underway this week with W Network’s holiday programming set to begin Friday, October 18th! This year is W Network’s biggest offering of Hallmark holiday content and includes movies and series from Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Mystery and Hallmark+. An earlier press release only mentioned one holiday series – Mistletoe Murders – coming to Canada but joining the mystery series in this year’s lineup on W are Holidazed and Finding Mr. Christmas.
Celebrate the holidays with back-to-back movies on W Network’s Countdown to Christmas beginning Friday, October 18th. This year’s festive lineup features 41 new premieres and 3 new holiday series!

In September, Great American Family announced a second season of When Hope Calls, set to premiere in early 2025. Super Channel has now announced that this new season will premiere in Canada on Heart & Home in the first quarter of 2025. The When Calls the Heart spin-off follows two sisters who open an orphanage in the frontier town of Brookfield. The first season aired in 2019, followed by a two-part Christmas special in 2021, with no word on the future of the series until recently.
A Sprinkle of Deceit: A Hannah Swensen Mystery is on its way to Canada! This latest installment of the mystery franchise is set to premiere in Canada on CTV Life on Saturday, October 19th. It just premiered on Hallmark Mystery in the US this past Friday so a two-week wait is a nice change compared to previous movies, but please note that this premiere is scheduled to air on CTV Life and not CTV Drama which was where all the previous Hannah Swensen Mysteries aired.
The Ainsley McGregor Mysteries: A Case for the Winemaker is set to air next weekend on CTV Life. The new series starring Candace Cameron Bure is adapted from the mysteries by Candace Havens. Set in the town of Sweet Water, it follows Ainsley who returns home to open an artisan market after leaving behind her job as a criminologist in Chicago. When a man is found murdered, however, she can’t help but investigate and the whole community comes together to help her solve the crime.
